Momma Cram's Room Reveal!

TxFGOkOE.jpg

My mom does everything for everyone. She is so selfless and is the definition of superwoman. She never ever does anything for herself. I have wanted to give her something special. Something that makes her feel good inside, relaxed, and refreshed. I am a huge believer in keeping the space you live in somewhere that you feel peaceful and inspired by. I wanted my mom to have that. To have a space that she wakes up to every day that makes her want to just freakin' kill in.

She is the busiest woman I know. Gone at the crack of dawn, and home at 10pm. She owns a business, has 4 kids + 2 in-laws to worry about, a social life that would put me to shame, active with our church groups, travels the world, cooks, cleans, and somehow finds time to date in-between and plan a wedding with (for) me! I have no idea how she does it! She is superwoman!

Over the last 4 months, I have pulled out all the stops for her. Having numerous companies involved in this sponsorship and collaboration has me almost in tears. I am so excited too share the outcome of the spaces, and show off what we have done! It truly has created such transformation from what she has had for the last 10+ years in her room! Out with the old, in with the new! Bye bye 4 posted bed! Bye old tarnished nightstands. Bye ceiling fan! Bye gigantic armoire.

Here’s what it looked like before. Dated, dull, and boring.

It is just so amazing to me what white paint does to a room! It is so fresh, and bright! These windows in particular have always been tricky, but I found a way to make them work using this rod.

Paint

It constantly amazes me what simple white paint does to a space! When in doubt, paint it white. My motto. I teamed up with Clare paint to make this space something special! The thought of picking out a white paint seems daunting to most! Clare paint made it so easy. And, they delivered it right to your door with all the tools you needed as optional add-ons. It couldn’t have been easier!

We ended up choosing Clare’s “Fresh Kicks” paint color for the primer, wall, and trim. We did the ceiling in their ceiling wall color. It took us 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of wall paint to get the perfect color and cover up the buttery yellow that was on the walls before. It was an instant refresh for the space!

Mattress

My mom has been sleeping on the same mattress for over 10 years! 10 years us a LONG time. It was time for an update- fast. I teamed up with Emma Mattress to provide a killer new mattress for my mom! It is like sleeping on a cloud! She loves it. It came rolled up in a box, and was delivered to the door. It was as easy as unwrapping a present. You literally just take it out of the box, unwrap the plastic wrap, and let it raise. It quickly grew to its form, and voila. A perfect kind size bed fit for a hard working mama.

Lighting

The biggest thing I wanted to make sure I incorporate was a statement chandelier! I knew her ceilings could handle it. We had a fan in there before and although it is practical, they aren’t the prettiest! I wanted to jump on the opportunity of doing something really fun in there! When I saw the Fenwater Chandelier my jaw dropped. It was literally love at first site! It was the perfect size for the space and the scale of it made such a statement! The quality of this baby is beyond my dreams.

What I liked about this chandelier in particular was the scale. It was perfect for the space. We also added a dimmer so she would have the option to create a little more mood lighting at the end of the day. The other great feature of this chandelier is the individual glass pieces are interchangeable, so you can totally customize the length or look of the chandelier to fit the space.

Accent Lighting

I love a textured table lamp. I wanted to bring something interesting into this space. I knew I was going to use a desk that my grandma passed down to me, but wanted to add a little twist for the lamp that will sit on top of the desk.

I went with the Zen lamp from Hudson Valley Lighting. It has a strong concrete base, and is very large in scale. It was perfect on top of the desk!

Wall Lighting

I am a sucker for any kind of picture light. This room has a big giant wall of open space. I knew I wanted to put a piece of art on the wall with a giant picture light above it! I love that this light - the Woodbury picture light from HVL- has the option to plug in or hardwire into the wall later. I opted to do the plug in version since we didnt want to get into the mess of hardwiring something that we weren’t sure was going to stay long term! The plug in option lets us hang a picture without fully committing.

Nightstands & Lighting

I knew I wanted to keep this space bright white, including the nightstands. I went for the Small Carlyle Campaign Dresser from Ave Home. They are stunning! I love the brass hardware and sleek white material. And they provide great additional storage for my mom! Something that a woman can never have enough of! They fit perfectly in this space.

I added the Locust Grove table lamps from Hudson Valley Lighting to go with the nightstands. I love how the colors coordinate, but are still subtle in the space.

Bedding

There is noting better than fresh white bedding. Serena and Lily’s white bedding specifically. It is the coziest bedding, and looks so amazing in this space. We wanted this bedding to feel layered, fresh, and simple. We knew we wanting a few different textures on the bed, and this combo is perfect!

I went with the Sutter Linen Quilt, Beach Club Duvet Cover, Beach Club Sheet Set, Beach Club Shams, Beachcomber Cotton Throw, and the Brookings Pillow Cover - all from Serena and Lily.

Rug

I love a good neutral rug. I personally love to invest in a rug that I know I will not get sick of- and I know this one was neutral enough I wouldn’t. I wanted to bring in a rug that has a Parisian take on traditional look of rugs that my mom loves.

Thank you Loloi for teaming up with me and providing one of their rugs from the Loren Collection for the project. It looks so perfect in here, and helps execute the simple, neutral vibe I was going for in here. I went with the 7’6 x 9’6 size.

Ottomans

I love putting a pretty set of ottomans at the foot of the bed. I am a sucker for anything animal print, so when I saw these Antelope Ottomans I knew I needed them! They are about 18x18 and are perfect for the foot of the bed. I also love them under a console or styled in a living room or something! They are made SO well, and would be a pretty addition to any room! Little Design Company has so many goodies in their shop, so take a look! Their pillows are always my go-to!

Art

The last thing I want to talk about is this pretty oversized piece of art! This piece is especially sentimental to me- I am getting married in a month and I wanted a way to display the lyrics to our first dance in our home. I couldn’t find anything I loved, so I created this print myself and had it framed in this large 40x50 frame I had. It is especially special to Taft and I, and I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out!

Other Special Pieces

Finally, I collected all the little pieces that really bring a room together. I picked out the Ritva curtains from Ikea, the Peekabo 38” Acrylic Console Table, and two Natural Zigzag Hyacinth Camile Tote Baskets. I think they really complete the look!

This was a super special project for me to do. I’m so happy that I could do this for my Momma. Thank you to all the sponsors who helped make it happen:
